This piece was inspired by the song "Contagious" by Night Riots. One of the things I love most about music is that different people can interpret each song differently depending on how their mind works and their experiences. This is my interpretation. I was drawn to the line "I am no one's fault" because for me, it seemed to be talking about anxiety, vulnerability, and letting go. All of those things and my feelings towards them have always been challenging concepts. I knew when I listened to this song that I had to illustrate something that was a blend of the song and me as a person who struggles with mental health. The plants in the background are ginger blossoms. Ginger symbolizes letting go of anger and frustration.
